Let’s hear what our Fundraising From Home (FFH) past participants have got to say!
KUALA LUMPUR: Exciting news — SERUM’s Batch 9 Fundraising From Home (FFH) Program which lasted for 2 weeks had just ended on 26th April 2021. We’ve got 35 participants from UniKL, who had successfully raised a total of RM 4,301.90. In this article, their source of motivation will be revealed.
- Nurul Athirah Binti Anuar
“For me, to do something good in helping people no matter how the situation is, is a positive value. In terms of religion, we’re also being taught to always be good to everyone regardless of one’s background. The main purpose I joined SERUM is to help the community in need by collecting funds. With the funds collected, SERUM will then use it to provide the basic needs to those in need.” said Athirah.
2. Mohammad Shafik bin Khirudin
“The reason I joined SERUM is to help those who are in need. This is the opportunity to help people who are facing financial difficulties to buy the face mask and hand sanitizer. Besides that, SERUM has taught us on how to organize our own fundraising page and build relationships with other people. By doing this, we can show love to our community and create a sense of community within ourselves which makes us feel the satisfaction of contributing to the world.” said Shafik.
3. Sharifah Fatimatul Batool Binti Syed Abd Rahman
“It is often said that partnership is good; sharing does not only benefit the recipient, but also the giver or contributor. We want to help those in need and affected by this pandemic. Therefore, we partnered with SERUM via the FFH program to help them increase their funds donation. In addition, we felt honoured to be involved in this program and had also gained more knowledge on how to do charity activities and programs. We hope that with our involvement, little by little we can help SERUM achieve a big success in helping those who are really in need during this Covid-19 pandemic and also in the future.” said Sharifah.
4. Nafisa Maliya
“The reason I joined SERUM is because I realised that there are different ways of helping people without needing to step outside of our own house. I can help a person by donating or fulfilling their needs. Also, the new ideas that SERUM has in their store inspires me to do the same with the people I live with. Those innovative and helpful ideas will help me to lead any fundraising activity in the future. I am grateful for this,”said Nafisa.
5. Puteri Izzatie binti Md Mahfudza
“I joined SERUM’s FFH because I wanted to gain more knowledge and experience in fundraising. Hence, by joining this program, we get to know that many people will be reached out for help and I am excited to do this! This is my first time joining a fundraising program!” said Puteri.
6. Nurul Nazifa binti Abdul Rani
“I joined SERUM’s FFH because I know that I will be able to venture into something new and exciting that I’ve never done before! SERUM has also given me the opportunity to learn a lot of new skills such as devising marketing strategies and how to get targeted funding within a limited amount of time,” said Nazifa.
7. Muhammad Khairil bin Abdullah
“I joined SERUM to gain experience for me to realize that not everyone is able to live a comfortable life like others. This gives me the motivation for me to continue to learn to improve myself and at the same time help people in greater need,” said Khairil.
8. Nurul Farihah Binti Nor Azman
“I joined SERUM’s FFH to gain knowledge in various ways. It can also give me the chance to know more about marketing and how to communicate with people. In this way, it can help me to increase my self-confidence level,” said Farihah.
9. Nur Syazwin Affif binti Sulaiman
“I joined SERUM’s FFH to gain more experience and also enhance my communication skills as I will learn how to communicate with people of various ages, genders as well as positions. This can also help to overcome my introvert traits,” said Syazwin.
10. Cairel hashim anwar bin Mohd hashim
“I joined SERUM because I love to help people. I have experience in helping people in need, for example, giving food, iftar or sahur with the homeless, and many more. Without thinking about races or “colour”, we need to stay united to help those in need,” said Cairel.
11. Noor Zharfan bin Noor Zamri
“I joined SERUM because I realize that charities need our help to continue their selfless initiatives, whether we choose to donate to charities to support people living in poverty, advocating to protect the environment, or addressing other global or local problems, which will indirectly build up empathy within ourselves. Besides, this kind of work can also bring a variety of positive impacts to the youth, society and the country,” said Zharfan.
12. Muhammad Hazim bin Noor Adhar
“I joined SERUM because I’m aware of the reality that not everyone has the same privilege as us. So it is our responsibility, who has the privilege to give back, even in a small amount so that we can improve others’ life,” said Hazim.
13. Shazmeen Binti Zakaria
“I joined SERUM because I want to boost up my confidence level via the fundraising program. SERUM has shown me the way and I believe that I can achieve my goal and come out from my comfort zone,” said Shazmeen.
14. Muhammad Haziq Daniel Mohd Haffiz
“I joined SERUM because I would like to take an action in helping the underserved people to have better protection against Covid-19. By joining this FFH program, I would get to learn more about the fundraising skills and also obtain a diversity of experience,” said Haziq.
15. Hanis Humairah binti kadiran
“I joined this FFH by SERUM to help the people in need. I see that SERUM does not only carry out charitable donation activities but also business activities. I am attracted to their vision and concept. Because of that, I got involved in the activity,” said Hanis.
16. Nurin Amielia Binti Amizon
“One of the reasons I joined this FFH program is because the activities that SERUM runs give benefit to the community, for example, they do charitable donation activities while running a business. Besides that, I also love doing donation activities and I’m very interested in FFH SERUM. Because of that, I got involved in these activities,” said Nurin.
17. Siti Aisyah bt Zahrin
“Reasons I’m joining this FFH by SERUM is because all the activities that were run by SERUM were giving equal benefits and goods for everyone, such as the charitable donation activities can benefit the community, while the business activity can give benefits to the social entrepreneurs. Furthermore, youth involvement is one thing that touched my soul and became an eye opener for me to get myself involved in this program,” said Aisyah.
18. Adlina Farzana Binti Ahmed Fauzi
“Through FFH, I realized SERUM is such a great organization that grabs my attention to join, to collect donations for those who need it. I foresee that by joining this activity, I can get experience in a social enterprise, by getting involved in charities to help others, at the same time I can improve myself for a brighter future. Also I can gain and give benefits to the society,” said Adlina.
19. Muhammad Khairullah Bin Abdullah
“I want to join SERUM’s FFH because it gives me the opportunity to help those who are in need where they cannot afford to buy hand sanitizer and face masks. I also get to gain new experience as this is my first time joining a fundraising activity,” said Khairul.
